Q) the answer given in the book is (D) but how products (B) & (C) are formed can you kindly explain this....???

When a nucleophile tried to attack, chlorine gets detached with a pair of electrons that means with negative charge. So it leaves a plus charge on the carbon atom as shown in structure (I). Furan is an aromatic compound, so the positive charge is resonated through the three structures as shown in the three structures (I, II, III). Thus, at three positions, the positive charge is formed where the incoming nucleophile that is -OCH3 can attack to form the three provided structures given in three options - (a), (b) and (c). The options (b) and (c) are formed due to resonating structures (III) and (II) respectively.
