Total initial momentum = m1 v1 + m2 v2 = ( 2 × 10 ) + [ 2 × (-20) ] = -20 kg m/s

Perfect inelastic collision means, both masses stick together after collision.

Hence if v is velocity of combined mass after collision ,

then we have ,  ( m1 + m2 ) v = -20    or   v = -20 / 4 = -5 m/s

Initial kinetic energy = (1/2) m1 v12 + (1/2) m2 v22 = ( 0.5 × 2 × 100 ) + ( 0.5 × 2 × 400 ) = 500 J

Kinetic energy after collision = (1/2) [ m1 + m2 ] v2 = 0.5 × 4 × 25 = 50 J

Loss of kinetic energy = ( 500 - 50 ) J = 450 J
