Two 20kΩ resistors connected across the points A and E acts as potential divider and divides the potential in the ratio 1 :1

Hence,  potential difference between A and C is 6V .

Series connection of 10kΩ resitor and thermistor of 5kΩ resitance across points B and F acts as potential divider

that divdes the potential in the ratio 2:1

Hence,  potential difference between D and F is 4 V

Point C is at a potential 6V with respect to E . Point D is at a potential 4 V with respect to F .

Hence potential difference between C and D is 2 V

Voltmeter position Potential Difference ( V)
A-C 6 V
D-F
4 V
C-D
2 V

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

When temperature increases , resistance of thermistor decreases .

Potential difference between A and C will remain same 6 V because there is no change in resistances across A and E.

Since thermistor resistance decreases , potential difference across thermistor i.e between D and F decreases
