neutrality of semi conductors

e both p type and n type semiconductors electrically neutral?? Pl explain...
p type and n type semicondutors are elctrially neutral as the impurities added to teh semiconductor are neutral atoms.
The excess electrons appear in n type because of very samll energies required to raise them to conduction band. Similarly in ptype the holes are created because the enrgies required for the valence electrons to move along the valnece band through holes is again neglible.
