Heat is a form of energy. 
Law of conservation applies to the total energy. 
Heat energy, individually is not conserved it transforms from one form to another form of energy. 
In case of mechanical energy also, sum of kinetic energy and potential energy is conserved and not the kinetic and potential energy separately/individually. 
Thus, heat is not a conserved quantity.

The temperature of 170g of water at 50degree celsius is  lowered to 5degree celcius by adding certain amount of ice to it.Find the mass of ice added . (Take ,specific heat capacity of water=4200J/kg0c and specific latent heat of ice =36000J/kg)
