Is f(x)= cosx a decreasing or increasing function?

f(x) = cosx is neither a monotonically increasing nor a decreasing function. It is a sinusodial function and hence,it increased and decreased depending on which values of x you are talking about.
So, for x between 0 and pi, cosx is decreasing, but between pi and 2pi it is increasing.
