It is always the electrons that move. The positive ions are fixed in place. So a positive charge is actually the removal of negative charges.
For a positively charged body connected to the earth, the electrons flow from the earth to the body. For a negatively charged body connected to the earth, the electrons will flow from the body to the earth.
