If a set A has m elements, then number of subsets = 2m .

If a set B has n elements, then number of subsets = 2n .

Difference of total number of sets between A and B = 2m - 2n = 12

we have

21 = 2

22 = 4

23 = 8

24 = 16

Hence , 2m - 2n = 24 - 22 = 12

m = 4 and n = 2
