Q. if a cube of side 5 cm has a charge of 6 micro coloumb then the surface charge density is:
Sol:
Given that,
Charge is 6 micro coloumb, q =6 × 10-6 C
Total surface area of cube = 6a2 = 6 × (5×10-2)2
Now, Surface charge density will be:
, ![sigma equals fraction numerator q over denominator s u r f a c e space a r e a end fraction
equals fraction numerator 6 cross times 10 to the power of negative 6 end exponent over denominator 6 cross times 25 cross times 10 to the power of negative 4 end exponent end fraction space equals 10 to the power of negative 2 end exponent divided by 25
sigma equals 4 cross times 10 to the power of negative 4 end exponent space C divided by m squared](https://images.topperlearning.com/topper/tinymce/cache/d0cd0e7ad6ca91d5b1d0acd96d61fe93.png)
