How does a rectifier work on the basis of biasing of pn junction diode ?

In Half-Wave rectifier, the output voltage is unidirection intermittent and varying voltage and the frequency of output signal is same as that of input signal.
In Full Wave rectifier, the output voltage is unidirectional varying voltage and the frquency of output signal is double than that of input signal.
