CBSE Class 9 Answered
How do different cropping patterns reduce the growth of weeds and pests?

Expert Answer
Growing of two or more crops simultaneously in the same field in a definite pattern reduces the growth of weeds as there will no be no space left out for the growth of other plants. There will be no weeds present if we grow different crops in a successive period such as in mixed cropping, intercropping and crop rotation.
The crop rotation will be a suitable technique to get rid of pests and weeds.
