How can forest prevent flood? Explain in your own words

Expert Answer
The forest is a natural absorber of rainwater. It allows rainwater to seep through. The roots of the trees hold the topsoil and make it porous, which allows rainwater to seep through it. The roots absorb the water and prevent it from flowing away. The trees in the forest prevent the rain from directly hitting the ground, which may result in floods.
