The layer of forest that cut off the flow of raindrops

Expert Answer
The close canopy of forest - the uppermost layer of forest cut off the flow of raindrops.

Thus, most of the water comes down through the branches and the stems of the trees. Also, rain water drips slowly from the leaves over branches of the shrubs and herbs. Hence, raindrops are not able to hit the forest floor directly.
