Alternating current in LCR circuit is given as ,
i = im sin( ω t + φ ) ...............................(1)
where φ is phase difference between voltage and current.
At half power , i.e., when circuit is giving half of maximum power , current in the alternating cicuit i = im / √2
Hence eqn.(1) is written at half power as , ( im / √2 ) = im sin( ω t + φ )
Hence we get , sin( ω t + φ ) = 1 / √2
at t = 0 , we get from above equation , sin ( φ ) = 1 / √2 or φ = ( π/4 ) rad = 45o
Hence phase difference between Current and voltage is 45o
