If current varying with time is passed through moving coil galvanometer , it shows the average value .
If the current is " i(t) = a + b sin (ω t ) " , then dc current of magnitude a is super imposed by ac current ( b sin (ω t ) ).
Average of ac current part is zero . Hence we will get average of current " i(t) = a + b sin (ω t ) " as a .
