CBSE Class 10 Answered
hello sir ,please clear my doubt
A ray of light travelling in air falls on the surface of a transparent glass slab at an angle of 60° with the normal to the surface.find the angle made by the refracted ray with the normal within the glass slab.Refractive index of the glass slab is .
Thank You

Expert Answer
let i is angle of incidence, r is angle of refraction and μ is refractive index of material of slab.
sin i / sin r = μ hence sin r = sin i / μ = sin 60/√2 = √3/(2√2) = 0.612
r = sin-1(0.612) ≈ 38°
