Expert Answer
at the height , the object possess= mgh=pot energy
just before reaching the ground that fully converts to kinetic energy.
On touching the ground, that energy converts to heat and due to that heat certain portion of it converts to water.

mgh=Jm'L.....say m' amount of ice melts.
h=1.68m on putting the values.
