CBSE Class 11-science Answered
Find the equation of the circle passing through the point of intersection of the lines x + 3y = 0 and 2x - 7y = 0 and whose centre is the point of intersection of the lines x + y + 1 = 0 and x - 2y + 4 = 0.

Expert Answer
Point of intersection of the lines x + 3y = 0 and 2x - 7y = 0 is x = 0, y = 0. This implies that the circle passes through the origin centre lies on the point of intersection of the lines
x + y + 1= 0
x - 2y + 4 = 0
Thus centre is (-2,1)
Distance between any point on the circumference of the circle and the centre is the radius,
