- The Industrial Revolution started in Europe in the late 18th century. Industrialisation transformed the production of goods from household to factories and industries.
- During this time, goods can be produced at a larger scale and faster rate.
- Industrialisation led to economic and social change in the society. Many societies in the west became industrial societies.
- During the Industrial Revolution people started migrating from rural to urban areas in search of jobs.
- There was also the development of transport, technology and communication.
- Workers were paid little and they had to work for long hours. There was also the problem of housing and sanitation.
- The revolution aso dvocated rights and freedom of people including women
