explain how nerve impulse travel through a neuron

The information is received at the dedritic tip of a neuron. This creates an electrical impulse, which travels from dendrites to cell body and then along the axon. At the end of axon, the electrical impulse sets off the release of some chemicals, which cross the synapse to the next neuron.
