Expert Answer
Gain in a device is simply the ratio of output power to the input power.
Gain = Po/Pi
This gain will be unitless.
However, for comparative practical analysis there has to be some unit where two devices can be compared.
Hence, gain is calculated in terms of decibels (dB). It is defined as 10 times log of ratio of power.
Gain in dB = 10log (Po/Pi)
NOTE: The other question seems incomplete. It is not possible to decide the carrier frequency unless other parameters are specified.
