evolution

Changes in DNA during reproduction are the basic events in evolution. The process of DNA copying will have some variations each time. This inbuilt tendency for variation during reproduction is the basis for evolution.
(Errors in DNA copying accompanied by crossing over & recombination of characters taking place during fertilization, all contribute to evolution. Selection of variants by environmental factors forms the basis for evolutionary processes)
