Asked by Nitin | 30th May, 2016, 12:50: AM
Expert Answer:
A good yield of crops is influenced by several factors such as
- Proper preparation of soil
- Timely sowing of seeds
- Addition of manures and fertilisers
- Irrigation
- Proper climatic conditions
- Removal of weeds
- Harvesting
- Storage of food grains
Hence, although the climatic conditions were favourable, the farmer might have failed to obtain a good yield of crops because of the following reasons:
- Absence of good quality seeds
- Inappropriate or insufficient irrigation of crops
- Improper application of manures or fertilisers
- No removal of weeds
