Expert Answer
If the stiker strikes weakly at a pile of coins , all the coins are getting displaced from their initial position because all the coins are in contact with their neighbouring coins . Hence due to impulse experienced by the striked coin , striked coin gets momentum .
This momentum is distributed to all the coins . This distribution of momentum is not uniform but every coin gets some momentum. Hence each coin is displaced from their initial position.

To ensure the vertical fall of coins to the pocket , coin should be striked with (i) the correct speed and in (ii) correct angle .
