Given arithmetic progression is 11 , 8 , 5 , 2 ......................
 
First term a = 11 and common difference d = -3
 
if -105 is rth term , then we have
 
begin mathsize 14px style t subscript r space equals space a space plus space left parenthesis r minus 1 right parenthesis space d end style
 
begin mathsize 14px style negative 105 space equals space 11 space plus space left parenthesis r minus 1 right parenthesis space left parenthesis negative 3 right parenthesis end style
 
we do not get r as integer by solving above expression .
 
Hence -105 is not a ter in the given arithmetic progression series
