Cellular structure of sclerenchyma:
- It consists of elongated, narrow and fibre-like cells.
- Cells are dead, pointed at both ends and thickened.
- They are located in the stems around the vascular bundle, veins of leaves and hard covering of seeds and nuts.
- The tissues provides strength and toughness to plant parts
