Work done = force applied x displacement of the object.

When we pick things up , we are applying a force against the force of gravity.Hence the force ,which is equal to mass of the object x acceleration, we get F = mg ( where: g - acceleration due to gravity = 10m/s2)

The displacement is the height to which the porter lifts the baggage  = 1.5m in  the above case.

Work done = 15 x 10 x 1.5 = 225N
