Expert Answer
Work done = force applied x displacement of the object.
When we pick things up , we are applying a force against the force of gravity.Hence the force ,which is equal to mass of the object x acceleration, we get F = mg ( where: g - acceleration due to gravity = 10m/s2)
The displacement is the height to which the porter lifts the baggage = 1.5m in the above case.
Work done = 15 x 10 x 1.5 = 225N
