Expert Answer
Fahrenheit to Celcius scale conversion is given by
(F-32)× (5/9) = C ....................(1)
F is temperature in fahrenheit scale and C is temperature in Celcius scale;
if temperature in both scale is same, then F = C = X;
let us substitute F and C from above in equation (1), we get (X-32)×(5/9) = X
Solving the above equation we get X = -40;
hence -40° C = -40° F
