Two rods of equal length and m are joined together as and L-shape and angle between the rods is 90° .

The L-shaped system is hanged on a peg at P as shown in figure.

Center of mass is at G that is on the line joining centre of mass of individua rod and it is at mid point as shown in figure.

Let h be the distance between pivot point P and center of mass G .

Distance h related to semi-length of rod as

For small oscillation , period T equals period of oscillation of compound pendulam .

Hence , period T of small amplitude oscillation of L-shaped system of rods is

where is moment of inertia of the L-shaped system of rods.

Moment of inertia of the L-shaped system of rods about the pivot point P is

By substituting and h in eqn. (1) we get

Hence n = 2
