Analogous and homologous organs

Expert Answer:

Homologous organs are organs of different organisms, which are disimilar externally whereas analogous organs are similar in function and external appearance.

Homologous organs are similar in origin and in fundamental structural plan. Eg. hand of man and wing of bird. But analogous organs are disimilar in origin and structural plan. Eg. wing of insect and wing of bird.
