Expert Answer:

When temperature of a liquid increases, its volume also increases. Hence, if the water is filled to the brim in the radiator, then it will spill out after getting heated.
The coolant overflows after getting heated. Hence, modern automobiles have a overflow reservoir which will collect the coolant that is spilt out of the radiator.
