acids produce hydronium ion when dissolved in water as it has ionisable hydrogen atoms

HCl  ⇔H+ +Cl-                 H+ +H2O⇒H3o+(hydronium ion)

base is metallic or ammonium oxide or hydroxide containing displacable oxide ion O2-  hydroxide ion OH-

CuO    ,   Mg(OH)2

salts r formed when acid  base react  by replacement of ionisable hydrogen ion H+ of acid completely or partially by metal or ammonium ion             NaOH + HCl⇒NaCl+H2O
