Magnetic field at centre of solenoid = ( μo n i ) , where μo = 4π×10-7 H/m is permeability of free space .
 
n is number of turns per unit length , n = 100 /.2 = 500 turns/m
 
i is current in A
 
if magnetic field at centre of solenoid is 3.14 × 10-2 T ≈ π × 10-2 T , then
 
( μo n i ) = 4π × 10-7 × 500 × i = π × 10-2 T
 
we get current i = 50 A
