a rectangular room is 10m long and 7.5m wide find the cost of covering the flower with carpet 1.25 m wide at rupees 250 per metre

Area of the floor = 10 x 7.5 = 75 m2
As the floor needs to be covered with the carpet, area of the carpet must be same as the area of the floor.
Let 'l' be the length of the carpet
Now, Area of carpet = Area of floor
i.e. l x 1.25m = 75m2
Therefore, l = 60 m
Cost of covering the floor is Rs. 250 per meter when the width of the carpet is 1.25 m.
So, the total cost of covering the floor = Cost per meter x Length of the carpet
= 250 x 60
= Rs. 15000
