A cubical water tank with lid has each edge 2 m long. If the cost of the tiles is Rs 240 per dozen. Calculate the amount spent to cover the outer surface of the tank excluding the base, with square tiles of side 50 cm.

Expert Answer
Given: Edge of the tank (a) =2 m
Area of four walls and lid=
Area of each tile of edge 50 cm =2500 cm2
Let “N” numbers of tiles are required to cover the required area.
N×2500=200000
N=80
Cost of 12 tiles= Rs 240
Cost of 80 tiles= Rs 1600
