Two stones are thrown with same speed u, one in upward direction and other in the downward direction. When they reach the ground they acquire certain velocities V1 ad V2 respectively. Find ratio of V1 is to V2.

Let us consider that at a height of H from ground level, one stone is thrown upward with velocity u m/s.
At same level H above the ground, another stone thrown downward with velocity u m/s.
Bu the stone thrwon upward with velocity H will reach back the same level with the initial speed u m/s and continue to fall downwards
Hence both the stones are falling with speed u m/s from height H above ground. hence they reach ground with same speed
hence v1:v2 = 1 : 1
