Let origin shifted to (X + h, Y + k)
Hence, x = x + h and y = Y + k
x2 - 12x + 4 = 0
(X + h)2 - 12(X + h) + 4 = 0
Solving this we get
X2 + (2h - 12)X + h2 - 12h + 4 = 0
According to the condition given in the question
2h - 12 = 0
h = 6
Hence, if we shift origin at (6, 0) then equation will have no first degree term.
