Direct variation: When 1 quantity increases/decreases, the other increases/decreases.
Example 1: Speed and Distance - When speed of a vehicle increases, the distance covered will also increase.
Example 2: Number of chairs and area of room - When the area of a room increases, it can accomodate more number of chairs.
Example 3: Number of items bought and Amount of money - More chocolates can be brought with more money.
