To find the resultant displacement ,we draw a 3 cm long line towards east to represent 3 km towards east.Then we draw a 4 cm line towards north and finally 9cm towards east.(let 1 cm represent 1 km)
Now the resultant displacement can be found by joining the starting point and the finishing point.Here line AD represents the
final displacement.If you measure the length of AD it is found to be 12.6 cm.So the final displacement=12.6 km
