Coleoptile

1. It is a protective sheath that encloses the plumule in a monocot seed.

2. It comes out from the soil and perform photosynthesis.

Coleorhiza

1. It is an undifferentiated sheath that encloses the radicle and root cap in the monocot seed.

2. It remains inside the soil.
