ICSE Class 9 - Cross Multiplication Method Videos

If three times the larger of two numbers is divided by the smaller number, we get 4 as the quotient and 3 as the remainder. Also, if seven times the smaller number is divided by the larger number, we get 5 as the quotient and 1 as the remainder. Find the numbers. 

Solve the following using cross multiplication:

ax + by − (a − b) = 0 

bx − ay − (a + b) = 0 

Solve the following using cross multiplication:

x + y − (a + b) = 0 

ax − by − (a² − b²) = 0 

Solve the following using cross multiplication:

x + y − (a − b) = 0 

ax − by − (a² + b²) = 0
