Why Indian ocean is named after India only, why not Sri Lanka or any other country??

India is located centrally between the East and the West Asia. The Indian Ocean connected the country with various maritime trade routes which helped her to establish trade relations with countries in West Asia, Africa and Europe. This is the reason that the Indian Ocean was named after her.
