Expert Answer
In our body the blood flows in the closed network of blood vessels. Due to multi-cellularity of the body, the cells are in constant needs of oxygen and other nutrients. Due to double circulation it is possible to send the blood with less oxygen and nutrients to the heart and at the same time oxygenated blood can be supplied to cells. This helps to continue the normal rate of the metabolism. At the same time in double circulation oxygenated and deoxygenated blood remains separated. Therefore, our body needs the double circulatory system.
