CBSE Class 12-science Answered

When electrons drift in a metal from lower to higher potential, does it mean that all free electrons of the metal are moving in the same direction?

Initially there is a flow of free electrons towards higher potential from lower potential.

After some time, accumulated electron in higher potential region gives negative potential that repels the
electrons reaching that region and finally equlibrium takes place and the motion of electrons is regulated by equlibrium condition
