CBSE Class 12-science Answered
what is the difference in flow of electron in wire carrying ac

Expert Answer
DC current flows in one particular direction and AC current flows sinusoidally, i.e. it reverses direction after a specific interval of time.
Hence, flow of electrons in DC is in one particular direction throughtout and flow of electrons in AC is in one direction for positive half cycle and in the opposite direction for negative half cycle. However, this happens for a very short time and repeats over and over again.
