we know that concave mirror and convex lens have the same figure in the ray diagrams. similary concave lens and convex mirror. If a diagram is given to complete, how to decide whether the given figure is of mirror or lens?

Answer:
Dear Student,
There is a difference between ray diagrams of the spherical mirrors and lens. As the mirrors involve only reflection, the rays or arrows are drawn on one side only while lenses involve refraction and we draw rays or arrows on both sides.
When rays are extended for mirrors on the other sides, dotted lines are used and not arrows.
