Let two charges +q and -q are separated by distance 2r and a positive charge +q is placed at middle as shown in figure.
 
Charge +q at middle experiences repulsive force due to +q charge at left side and attractive force due to -q charge at right side.
 
Magnitude of these repulsive and attractive forces are equal because distance r between charges are equal .
 
Direction of both the forces is same , i.e. from charge at middle to charge at right side as shown in figure.
 
Magnitude of net force F is
