The length of of a rod as measured an experiment was found to be 2.48m, 2.46m, 2.49m, and 2.48m. Find the average length, absolute error in each obervation and the percentage error.

average length of rod = (2.48+2.46+2.49+2.48)/4 = 2.4775 ≈ 2.48 m
absolute error in measurement 2.48 m = 0 m ; percentage error in measurement 2.48 m = 0%
absolute error in measurement 2.46 m = 0.02 m ; percentage error in measurement 2.46 m = (0.02/2.48)×100 = 0.8 %
absolute error in measurement 2.49 m = 0.03 m ; percentage error in measurement 2.49 m = (0.03/2.48)×100 = 1.21 %
