Expert Answer
In +ve half cycle of input voltage Diode D1 is open but diode D2 conducts .
This give rise to voltage output across the 2 kΩ resistance connected between the points C and D as shown in fig.1.
In -ve half cycle of input voltage Diode D2 is open but diode D1 conducts .
This give rise to voltage output across the 2 kΩ resistance connected between the points C and D as shown in fig.2.
Figure-3 shows the potential divider arrangement to get output voltage Vo .
Input peak voltage level is 10 V, hence voltage across points A and B will be RMS value of
peak input voltage i.e, ( 10/√2 ) volt .
Hence output voltage Vo will be ( 5/√2 ) volt
