When the refracted ray incident on mirrored face normally, it retraces its path.
Hence it can be seen from the figure that the refracting angle is 30º, if the angle of incidence is 45º on the non-silvered face of prism.
Refractive index can be calculated fromknown value of angle of incidence and angle of refraction as shown in figure.
